There were Tweedies, Potters, Callanders, and Littles, who sailed from Scotland to Canada to settle and raise families in the small community of Kouchibouguac. Thay came with their families, a few treasured possessions, and their homey crafts and love for the "Old Home" Country, and with their ingrained sense of right and wrong. What hardships some of them endured!

This site details my current findings into the history of the Tweedie family in Kouchibouguac, New Brunswick. Although the page is entitled "Tweedie Family", many other families are represented, many of which originate from the Kouchibouguac area as well.

The majority of my findings are maintained in Family Tree Maker and then published to the web as a series of geneology reports. My database is constantly growing so keep checking back occationally to see if anyting new which is added might be of interest to you.

I am still trying to find the link to the Tweedies in Scotland. John Tweedie (my Great-Great-Great Grandfather) came over from Scotland, however I have been unable to find any other information past him. I have searched though the Ship and Immigration Indicies, but as of yet have been unsuccesful. If anyone has any information help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
